A book fair exhibition booth for Wallpaper Bookstore.
As a bookstore specializing in architecture, the project takes architecture itself as the starting point for the space. The design focuses on the construction site—a condition shared by every building before completion.
Light-gauge steel framing, plywood, masonry blocks, safety netting, and explosion-proof lamps are used directly as the final finishes. Materials normally concealed once construction is complete are left exposed, making the process of building immediately visible and creating a raw, restrained contrast with the more elaborate booths around it.
A construction site is also a state of incompletion, where form is still open to change and imagination. It carries a sense of tension and anticipation distinct from a finished building.
The booth presents this unfinished condition as the space itself.

Wallpaper書店のためのブックフェア展示ブース。
建築書を扱う書店という特性から、建築そのものを空間の出発点とした。着目したのは、すべての建築が完成前に通過する「工事現場」という状態である。
軽量鉄骨下地、合板、コンクリートブロック、安全ネット、防爆灯など、通常は完成後に隠される施工材料を、そのまま最終的な仕上げとして使用した。素材を露出させることで建築と建設のプロセスを直接的に示し、周囲の華やかな展示ブースとは対照的な、粗く抑制された空間をつくった。
工事現場は、まだ形が決まりきっていない「未完成」の状態でもある。そこには変化の可能性と想像の余地があり、完成した建築とは異なる緊張感と高揚感がある。
その未完成性を、展示空間そのものとして提示した。

工地，是所有建筑在完成之前都会经历的共同状态。因此，我们将施工现场作为设计的出发点，并直接使用轻钢龙骨、木工板、砌块砖、安全防护网、防爆灯等常见施工材料作为展位的最终完成面。这些通常会被隐藏、覆盖的材料，在这里被直接暴露出来。它们既自然地唤起人们对于建筑与建造过程的联想，也以粗粝、克制的质感，与周围精致华丽的展位形成鲜明对比。更重要的是，工地代表一种“未完成”的状态。尚未定型的空间意味着变化、可能性与想象力，也承载着建筑过程中独有的兴奋感。希望将这种属于建造过程的开放性与期待感，带给每一位进入展位的观众。
